![]() Lynne Paris has been writing songs and poetry since she was 16 years old but only went public with self penned songs in the early 1990's when she launched Isis Music in Yorkshire. Isis Music was a voluntary arts organisation with objectives to encourage people to write, record and promote original songs. Lynne was joined in this venture by Ros Bielstein and Richard Blair from America. Together they produced a collection of Compilation CD's and roadshows promoting original artists. Lynne went on to become the Chair of the Cultural Partnership and Chief Executive of a Local Strategic Partnership. Lynne worked alongside the Council to launch the first Cultural Festival in the area which showcases the work of 120 voluntary arts groups. Lynne then trained as a radio broadcaster at The Sheffield Centre of Popular Music and developed a programme called Streets to The Internet which lynne broadcast from the centre periodically.
After a decade of promoting other people's music and raising money for charity by singing harmonies with Priory Hard Shanty ( Festival of The Sea) Lynne has finally decided to return to her roots and sing some of her vast collection of self penned songs. This dream began when Lynne won a song writing competition with a true story about her father missing believed dead in First World War ' Behind Enemy Lines'. Rachel Livingstone accompanied Lynne for the first time during the competition and due to the success decided to attract more musicians into a Folk Band and go out to.Festivals with a completely unique and original song set comprising not only Lynne's songs but also songs written by Rachel Livingstone ( Phoenix, Round the Wrekin) and possibly other lesser known writers such as Lee Myers ( Peace and Power CD) Well known songs Behind Enemy Lines, Doolin, Hull Shanty, Love is All it Takes, Jumbo Problems, Barbed Wire, Did You Ever Say, Mon Paris, The Tradesman, Summer Fields....and many more. |
