PARIS
is a newly formed contemporary band. The band name was
the result of lengthy discussions between the initial members of the band
and was eventually chosen because of links to the capital of France - Paris
- which is well known, has a romantic image and gives the sense of something
that will endure. Lynne sees the band as a project which creates a vehicle
for singer songwriters and original musicians to connect and communicate
through their songs with wider audiences and her vision is that in 5 years
time or so she will be replaced by another artist who can take the
project forward.
The band members share a wealth of experience. Lynne
Paris - singer songwriter was
awarded first prize in a song writing competition when she was joined by
Rachel Livingstone, Rachel herself crafts some beautiful songs. The award was presented
by Roy Bailey. The music is mostly original - a diverse mix of bright and lively
songs that leave you jigging in your seats one minute and the next minute
soulful songs that will bring a lump to your throat.. The songs have been
around for years and are now being reworked.
Lynne has already recorded or produced 4 CD's two of which were compilation
CD's and recording for the first
PARIS
CD is scheduled to begin in
2008.
Expect to be entertained and amused by the unique style
of this band. The recent addition of Sue Harris, who is also an award
winning songwriter to the band has added a new dimension with opportunities
for great harmonies as Lynne and Sue take both lead vocal and harmony roles
in different songs. The band do not profess to be perfect but hope that they
are entertaining.
